
This short course explores the development of Tier 3 for children in schools and educational settings.
iSTEP-GLOBAL’s Tier 3 Intensive individualized interventions course involves exploring individualized, therapeutic interventions for children who experience severe or complex trauma. Delivered by licensed mental health professionals, this level of support goes beyond classroom-based and group-based strategies to include empirically based trauma therapies for child trauma, i.e. trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as well as other promising trauma therapies.
Tier 3 interventions are designed to address deep emotional and psychological wounds, helping children process traumatic experiences, build coping skills, and restore a sense of safety and stability in their lives. Therapy is coordinated with caregivers, schools, and other support systems.

The course has been designed for educators, support staff, and paraprofessionals who deliver services directly or indirectly to children, adolescents, and teachers in the public, independent/private, and international sectors.
